Well-paced mystery set in an Outback town. Very descriptive, with a cast of odd and damaged characters.

In a small town in the Australian outback a small child disappears. Then a teen from the same town is found dead in Sydney-an apparent suicide. As an investigating detective looks into these events, long hidden feuds and secrets begin to reveal themselves.
The author's first book, Swimming In Silk, won a prestigious Australian literary prize. Angel Rock is as well written and is both menacing and mesmerizing.
