Hi I just finished THE NOTE by Angela Hunt.  This was the first book I've read by this author.  I thought it was good, but didn't necessarily LOVE it.....for those of you that have read some by Hunt, have you read this one, what did you think & do you recommend others by her?  I'm trying to decide if I should give her another shot with a different book.  Anyway, any insight is appreciated!

Thanks, Shayla

Deborah,

Uncharted is on my WL & has been since Feb.  Thank you for your opinion on what you like best of hers!  Did you read The Note?

Angela Hunt is one of my favorite authors. That said, I didn't really love The Note either. I haven't read everything she has written, but I have really liked quite a few of her later books:

Uncharted, Unspoken, The Novelist, the Fairlawn series (Doesn't She Look Natural? and the next one that is coming out soon called She Always Wore Red). I didn't love The Elevator either. I read the Heavenly Daze books a long time ago and I don't really remember them, so I guess they didn't leave a huge impression on me.

I have read about 10 books by Angela Hunt.  She is one of my favorite authors.  I have not read The Note, however, so I can't comment on that one.  I did not really care for The Novelist and if it had been the first book I'd read by her, I probably wouldn't have started reading more of her books--at least not right away.  I've read and enjoyed The Justice, the Heirs of  Cahira O'Conner Series--all 4 books, The Debt, and the 3 books of The Theyn Chronicles

I read The Novelist and didn't love it, but I've just gotten the first 2 books in The Heavenly Daze series and I've heard really good things about them and I also have The Elevator in my TBR pile so I'm gonna give that one a try too...

I really liked The Note.  I will agree that I didn't like The Novelist that much.  I really liked Uncharted.  It challenged me to think.  The Debt is next on my TBR list.  I'm excited to read it.  After that, I have Canopy to read.  She is becoming one of my favorite authors.

I haven't read a lot of books by Angela Hunt, but what I have read I've enjoyed.  I did read The Note, and also saw the movie on the Hallmark Channel.  The book was sooooo much better than the movie, IMO.  I've also read The Debt, The Proposal, as well as Here Comes Marriage that she cowrote with Bill Myers.  My favorites by her would the the Legacies of the Ancient River series which are based upon the life of Joseph--EXCELLENT!!!

I have The Note on my tbr.  I wanted to read it before I watched the movie.  I don't think I have read any other books by her, If I did I don't remember them.

I tried to sign-up for her contest but got an error.  :o(

I appreciate everyone taking the time to reply to my post.  It sounds like overall you guys really like her books.  It also seems that some are more favored than others.  You have definitely persuaded me to try more books by her.

(Carla I tried the contest & got an error message too, maybe it will work tomorrow.)

Thanks again,

Shayla

Christy--I'm glad to hear how much you liked The Legacies of the Ancient River Series.  I have the first 2 books and the last one is on my WL.  Now, I am really anxious to read it :)

Deborah--Thanks for the tip!  I entered for the drawing!

Erin--You might want to check out the content of each book before you decide.  Some of them are contemporary and some are historical fiction.  Some are stand-alone novels and some are in a series, which means waiting, if you are going to get them through PBS.  If you like contemporary fiction, I suggest either The Debt or The Justice or perhaps Uncharted, which I haven't read, but has been recommended by others--it's in my TBR pile :)

Shayla--I'm glad you aren't giving up on Angela Hunt.  Let us know more after you try another book!

Kay, if I could part with book 3 of that series, I would.  I have loaned out all three several times, and everyone always loves them.

I have another one of her books--The Shadow Women, I believe--that's based on Moses and Miriam, if I'm not mistaken.  I started it a long time ago, but had a hard time getting into it, so I didn't keep reading.  Any opinions on that book, anyone??

I am going to be optimistic--lol!  I am #1 out of 7 for one ISBN and #3  or #4 for another.  I won't plan on reading that series for a while :)

Christy--You should definitely hang on to yours!

I sent a message to Angela Hunt asking if this series was going to be re-published and got back an answer almost immediately.  She said yes and told me to check out the date on her "Books: Coming soon" page.  Here is what I found:

Coming in December 2008: Dreamers, the first of a trilogy about Joseph in ancient Egypt. From Steeple Hill.

Brothers, the second book, will follow in February 2009 and Journey, the third and final book, will follow in April 2009.

How cool is that?!

I'm going to be leaving tomorrow (Sat. March 29th) and will be putting my account on hold for a week - but I have The Debt on my bookshelf right now if anyone is interested. I loved the story.
