Does anyone know the titles and the order of the books in this series? And how many books there are?

According to Wikipedia, these are the titles and order:

  • Angélique: Marquise of the Angels
  • Angélique: The Road to Versailles
  • Angélique and the King
  • Angélique and the Sultan
  • Angélique in Revolt
  • Angélique in Love
  • The Countess Angélique
  • The Temptation of Angélique
  • Angélique and the Demon
  • Angélique and the Ghosts

It's quite an interesting bio: "Anne Golon was reduced to a state close to poverty by a law suit with the French publisher Hachette for the abuse of copyright and her unpaid royalties. She has won her battle over publishing rights to her Angélique stories. After a legal battle in France lasting nearly a decade, she has finally reached an agreement which makes her the sole owner of the works."

After looking at the order again, I don't think it's quite right. Angélique and the King is book #2, I think.

I just purchased the first Angelique book from Abe books.  I haven't received it yet to see what condition it is in but hopefully something I will be able to share with others.  Did you purchase it also Anne?

Not Angelique, but I received noticed from Abe yesterday that The Horse Coin was available within my price range. If I remember correctly that book is $85 on AZN US. I'm holding my breath because it's coming from the UK. But if it arrives safely and in postable condition, I gladly share it.

I received my copy of Angelique yesterday from Abebooks and it is a very old book.  The pages are yellow, the binding is creased and the front cover has a fold in the upper right hand corner so I think it will have to be a freebie when I finish it.  I'd be interested to know how yours is Anne when you receive it.

I wonder if these will be re-relased now that she has won ownership again? That would be nice! I'd love to try this series.

I won the second book - Angélique and the King - for a decent price on eBay. I haven't seen it yet, but I'll share it one way or another.

Debbie: I got my copy of Angelique. It is a old copy. All the pages are yellow and has that old book smell .There is a small tear on the top and bottom of the cover of the book.I do not think I would be able to post it.It may be a while before I can read it anyway.I am in school and do not have much time for reading.

Thanks for letting me know Anne.  I won't be reading mine for awhile either.  I have other things ahead of it.  It's too bad both of our books are pretty much in the same condition.

I guess I got lucky. I have two copies of Angelique and the next seven books in the series and they are all in wonderful condition. Not bragging, just commenting.

It's great when you can find a book that is a hard one to find and OOP and it is in great condition.  I payed $7.75 for my copy of Angelique (that included shipping) and that was the cheapest I could find it so I guess I didn't expect it to be in the greatest shape.  As long as it's readable and someone else can get enjoyment out of it is what matters.

Woohoo, Jennifer! You go, girl!

Just got my copy of Angelique and the King in. It's not postable either. But when I'm finished with it, I'll put it in my sig line as an unpostable.

Anne, here's a partial answer to your question. My copy has a list in reading order, but the list is incomplete, since my copy is an early edition. Here goes:

  • Angélique
  • Angélique and the King
  • Angélique in Barbary
  • Angélique in Revolt
  • Angélique in Love
  • The Countess Angélique
  • The Temptation of Angélique
  • Angélique and the Demon
  • Angélique and the Ghosts

What is a "sig line" and where do I find it?

Sorry, my shorthand for "signature line." I think that's what you call the tacked on information that appears with every message you post in the forums.

Anne has pictures in hers. I use mine to announce unpostables.

You can add stuff to your sig line in your account settings. Just look for "signature" in the forum settings.

Thanks Genie.  I saw this term used by another person--I think maybe it was Michelle.

I'm a little confused.  I was looking at E-Bay (the address is below) and in this particular auction there are 2  Countess of Angelique books and 2 Temptation of Angelique books with different subtitles.  Can anyone enlighten me?  Thanks.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29223&item=290204462758

I looked a little closer and it looks like each book is part 1 and part 2.  Sorry.  Just ignore me!!!
