ANGELS & DEMONS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS.
A pulse-pounding, edge-of-your-seat thriller. ANGELS & DEMONS is as compelling as Umberto Eco... as engaging as Tom Clancy... as fast-paced as Michael Crichton... and rivals the best Thomas Harris thriller. Angels & Demons earns Dan Brown a place among these literary peers.

Dan Brown manages to keep readers on the edge of their seats with gruesome crimes and clues laid out not only in history, but in the present day. He pushes the bounds of reality just enough to get you out of your comfort zone, but not enough to make you laugh about it.

I really liked the Da Vinci Code, so I thought another Dan Brown book with Robert Langdon was a must to read. Dan Brown does a fairly good job at weaving fiction in the historical setting of Rome and the Vatican. The whole story takes place in less than 24 hours. Science at odds with religion with the Illuminati at the center of the mystery. Robert Langdon portrays the Harvard symbologist with almost superhero powers. He manages to evade death time and time again. I do think jumping out of a helicopter without a parachute and using only a tarp to break the fall was a bit far fetched. A stimulating fun long book (almost 700 pages)which is perfect for a long plane ride.

As much as I loved the DaVinci Code, Angels & Demons is even better. This book was a true page turner with a fascinating look at Church v. Science. Twists and turns galore. Dan Brown in a genius of an author.
Can't wait to see the movie.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was better than The DaVinci Code. It did keep you guessing until the very end. I can see why the Catholic church doesn't like his books. Dan Brown portrays Catholic priests as lying, manipulative, must be done for the good of the church.

This is my favorite book! It keeps you at the end of your seat...couch...bed...wherever you read, it is full of suspense! It was one of those books I just couldn't put down. No real vulger words either, which I really appreciate.

This book was probably one of the most incredibly exciting books I've ever read. I felt like I was watching a movie. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Just wow.

After I read the Da Vinci Code, had to read this. Loved it. My husband liked it better than the Da Vinci Code.

Like the majority of readers, I read Angels & Demons by Dan Brown after reading The Da Vinci Code. I would venture that most people reading this review are asking the question, "How does Angels & Demons compare to The Da Vinci Code?" The short answer is that they're very similar. If you enjoyed The Da Vinci Code, you should enjoy Angels & Demons.

Dan Brown's plots are a bit contrived, and the romance is downright silly, but the books are worth reading for what you learn about art and religion. This book is better than DaVinci, and it will make you want to go to Rome and explore for days or weeks.
Really enjoyed this book, mush better than the movie
Well written. The movie does not do this book justice. I'm glad I read the book first. A must add to your list.

I find his books quite boring
A must read!
Great book. It has lots of twists all along, and I could never guess what would happen next. It takes a little while to get into it, but once you are there, it is a page turner, and hard to put down. I never expected it to end the way it did.
Suspenseful! Surprise ending!
Fantastic book. If you have not watched the movie, I suggest doing so before reading the book. They both have different endings, and I think if you see the movie first you will enjoy it, and then love the book even more after watching. If you read the book first, you will love it, but then be a bit disappointed when watching the movie, even knowing that they are limited in two hours on what they can do.
I liked this book a lot better than the DeVinci Code.
It has a lot more non stop action. Both books really made me think but I enjoyed this oen more. It seemed to be more rounded and did not go back and fourth between charectors as much.

There is nothing I like better than a book that lives up to hype and expectations. This was was definitely a page turner! The story is so well-written that in my rush to devour it and find out what happens next, I barely even noticed the few things that annoyed me (like when characters don't notice obvious clues) as I usually do while reading a book. A great read!
If you've ever been to Rome, you will love this book.
I don't normally like mystery books, but this one is very captivating. I never knew exactly what was going to happen. I also like The Da Vinci Code by the same author.
Rating: 3/5
Yet another extremely dumb plot, peppered with interesting research into past and present to keep you interested. This time scientists have invented a new technology that can blow stuff up and everyone wants. There are lots of plot "twists" to throw you off the scent of who is behind this overarching conspiracy.
If you thought there were plot holes in The Da Vinci Code, wait until you see this one. The story also includes characters switching personalities without reason to facilitate new story developments. The rating would be much lower if it reflected the worth of the writing, but it is based on enjoyability. An easy read that makes you laugh (at its logic).

My daughter LOVED this book!!
This was a fantastic read--you'll love it if you liked Da Vinci Code. It has the same flavour.
Lots of plot twists...almost makes it to DaVinci Code calibur.
Even better than Dan Brown's more popular book The Da Vincci Code.
The prequel to the Da Vinci Code.
My favorite of all the Dan Brown books.
Awesome read!
I don't really remember much about this book besides the neat wordplay designs (I read it a couple of years ago), but I definitely preferred it over The Da Vinci Code. It's a very riveting story, I remember that much!
Very similar in style to The DaVinci Code.
Light Summer Reading fun.
Great book. I liked it better than Davinci Code.
I enjoyed the suspense in this book. The ending was a surprise, just like in the Da Vinci Code.
