Pretty boring.

It's a sweet story about sisterhood and change. It was enjoyable to read. No overly racey bits, but good nonetheless.

A darling story of relationships, romance and closeness. There's no sexiness involved but an endearing tale of love and friends.

This was Luanne Rice's first book. It was a good story, but a bit slow. I still enjoyed it, however.

The author's first novel, re-released. A good read, but her books got better later.

Anyone with two (or more!) sisters will appreciate the author's exploration of the relationships between three Irish Catholic sisters. You will empathize with the situations and understand Una's heartbreak and undying love of her sisters. If you don't have sisters, you may not understand this book. I loved it as the theme and characters resonated with me. It's not a great book, but a goodone and one I'm very glad I read.

I enjoyed the relationships among the three sisters and some of the insights coming from those relationships. Una has her issues, but knows herself and what she should do to help herself. The coastal inn offered such a nice setting for parts of the story. An interesting and enjoyable book.

Luanne Rices' first novel about three sisters and how their relationships evolve as they meet and marry their significant others. A humorous, insightful, true-to-life story.

"The Cavan sisters are an inseparable trio." Of course, that can't last forever and it is the men who enter their lives- as well as the man who has left it- that complicate their relationship and change it. An enjoyable read though Rice has been sloppy with her background research. I found her Dutch character's use of German and his supposed Prussian-ness odd. As if Rice doesn't know the difference between Dutch and German. And no one ever got married in The Hague on New Years Day!

Good light read, yet enough depth to satisfy.

Okay, but then I'm not a big fan of Luanne Rice
not one of her best.
Overall there were some flaws, but I still found myself enjoying this book and it's characters. Like all of her later books, the story of family and of relationships is prominent and it engages the reader. I think if you go in reading this knowing some of these things (especially that this is her first book), you won't be disappointed. However, I would recommend reading her newer books first (Dream Country, Firefly Beach and Follow the Stars Home) and her older books second- but I do think the older books (Blue Moon, Stone Heart) are worth the reading time.
Great story!
good book, just didn't like the ending, guess it could become a series.
Great read

story about 3 sisters and how their lives intertwine as they live their own lives. Great Book
Una Cavan has always believed the women of her family had the power of witches.
splitting their time between the New England shore and the bustle of New York City, she and her sisters have shared a special unbreakable bond that no man has been able to challenge...but then Lily marries and begins to drift away and margo gets engaged. With another failed relationship behind her, a thriving acting career ahead, and now her father's ghost dropping in for casual visits, Una wonders if she's destined to be alone or if there isn't something more, something magical in store for her.
