Basically, this is a coffee table book with lovely photos of lovely pets and stylish owners in lovely expensive stylish homes. I was hoping for more creative ideas for hiding the necessities of pet life, like the litterbox. But at least it made me feel better about having a slipcovered couch, and this might be where I got the inspiration to pick a sofa color that matched the fur of my furry creatures.

I agree with the previous reviewer, that this book is sumptuously illustrated, but the lifestyle is not one most of us are likely to achieve. The "cat sconces" (small semicircular wall-mounted shelves for cats to sit on and leap between) are a good idea, but I wondered why we don't see any cats using them. Also, this book emphasizes dogs much more than cats - equal time!
