The author provided unique insight into the minds's of animals. The author has spent his life trying to make life situations better for animals, whether they be pets, livestock or zoo animals. It seems like being autistic has made him capable of some insights that "normal" people may not be able to "see." I felt like I needed to pull out my hightlighter at some points. It is intellectual, challenging reading that reminded me of studying in college. Overall a good book. Read it not for enjoyment, but to be more well informed of animal welfare issues. Please note that the author is not a vegitarian & does not encourage readers to not eat meat, either.
