What a sweet story about Anne spending two years as a teacher in Avonlea where she herself had attended school. There were a lot of new and interesting characters in the story, as well as ones we remember and cherish from the first book. Anne is growing up and so many things are happening, while she still has an imagination and a love for things that are "so romantic". I thought this was a good book, but not as addicting and interesting as the first one was for me to read. I thought this was going to be like the Anne of Avonlea mini-series I grew up watching, but I suppose that story happens in a later book, and I was surprised but delighted by this story.

Very entertaining. I like how the male star tells Anne that "Being smart is better than being pretty".

It has been a long time since I first read this series, and I must admit that I remembered much less of this installment in the life of Anne Shirley than I did of her scrapes and adventures in _Anne of Green Gables_. Still, this made for a delightful read, and it always put me in a better mood, even if I only read a chapter or two at a time. To see the world through Anne's eyes certainly improves it! And though Anne was much more grown up here at the age of 17, she still managed to fall into some mischief, and the antics of her students and Davy brought genuine joy and laughter to the book. I can't wait to see what is "around the bend" for Anne Shirley!

This is the 2nd book in the Anne of Green Gables series. I enjoyed this story as much as the first book. Just like the other book, Anne finds adventure and mishaps that make you smile and laugh out loud. Anne is starting to mature, but you can still feel the quirky, imaginative little girl everyone falls in love with in Anne of Green Gables.

The second installment in the Anne Shirley series by Canadian author L.M. Montgomery. If you loved Anne of Green Gables, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book. Anne is now a teacher in Avonlea and also is taking care of twins (more twins for Anne!). She gets into a series of mishaps and scraps, making this book fun, exciting and sweet. It will make you want to read the rest of the series.

The second book in the "Anne of Green Gables" series carries Anne into adulthood. She teaches Avonlea school, helps Marilla raise twins, and makes many new friends. One of my favorites!

Another good, warm-hearted Anne book. I am very much reminded of the book Christy (by Catherine Marshall), which I simply adore. I'm so glad there are sequels, so that I can watch Anne grow up. She is such a delightful character.

#2 in the ANNE OF GREEN GABLES series."It seemed only yesterday that the skinny, freckled redhead had first come to the Island. Now here was Anne, at pretty sixteen, teaching at the Avonlea school and all grown up. Well, not quite grown up. In fact Anne was not very different from her restless young pupils--mischievous and spirited as ever."

At sixteen, Anne is grown up... almost. Her gray eyes shine like evening stars, but her red hair is still as peppery as her temper. In the years since she has arrived at Green Gables as a freckle-faced orphan, she has earned the love of the people at Avonlea AND a reputation for getting into scrapes. But when Anne begins her job as the new school teacher, the real test of her character begins. Along with teaching the three R's, she is learning how complicated life can be when she meddles in someone else's romance, finds two new orphans at Green Gables, and wonders about the strange behavior of the very handsome Gilbert Blythe. As Anne enters womanhood, her adventures touch the heart and the funnybone.
