An editor, editorial writer or reporter of a daily newspaper, regularly employed as such and not following any other vocation. 21. Any person otherwise specially exempted by law. [Code Civ. Pro., §§ 1030, 1081, 1127, combined and made applicable throughout the state. Dentists are exempt in New York and in Kings, but not generally. Veterinary surgeons are now exempt generally but not in New York and Kings. The exemption of teachers generally has been extended following the Kings county provision. The exemption of public officers has also been extended generally, following the Kings county provision, § 1127, sub. 5.] § 245. Evidence of exemption. -- The following shall be sufficient evidence of the right of exemption under the last section. 1. Under subdivision two the certificate of the superintendent or other principal officer of the asylum. 2. Under subdivision three the certificate of the warden or other principal officer of the state prison, or the sheriff of the county, or the superintendent of the poor. 3. Under subdivision twelve thereof, where the . applicant is a non-commissioned officer, musician, or private, in a company or troop of the national guard, the certificate of the commanding officer of the company or troop, accompanied with proof by affidavit of the genuineness of the signature thereto. 4. Under the last clause of subdivision twelve or under subdivision thirteen thereof, in the discretion of the court, the discharge of the person from military service, if it shows the facts entitling him to exemption. 5.
