I can't find a really good, close image of this cover, but I ordered it when I decided to get a few anthologies, and I swear to God, you guys, these guys on the cover look just like Michael Landon and George Hamilton:

You'd swear they were the actual cover models.

Well it was published in 93 so I guess there's no chance of them actually modeling.   But, I wouldn't doubt artists using their images.  They were, after all, real heart throbs in their day.  Which makes me wish I had a really good romance book right now set on a prairie with the hero sweating in the sun while he plowed his fields..........

No kidding.  What were they thinking?  Also 2 males on the cover rather than a couple.  Gives one the impression this might be about gay people.  Leave it to male publishing house execs to screw it up every time!  Too bad authors don't have any control over covers (or titles).

Read a book not too long ago that I had to purposefully NOT look at the cover because I couldn't stand how awful both the man and woman looked. I found myself hiding the cover from myself - which is a little weird, I admit.  But it makes me crazy when they have terrible covers.  If I didn't want to repost, I'd just tear 'em off.

Oh, I have done that.  When I was a kid and I wanted to read at my job, I'd rip off the cover.  I actually have 2 keepers with no cover because of that!

Gasp!!! Miss Book Priss has defaced a book by ripping the cover off?  And a keeper no less?  I just cover them with paper or use a book mate if I don't like them.

I know!  I'm sick over it!  I had no choice!  It was 1984, there were no book mates back then!  Hmm, I never thought about covering it with paper.............

The awful romance covers remind me of a website I ran into awhile ago. These are actual romance covers but titles have been changed. Very funny.

Enjoy!

Madeline, those were freakin' hilarious.  I'd like to see more of them.

I've come across some bad covers, too.  I refrain from looking at them because, if I do look, then I get that image of them in my head while I'm reading and it makes the book less enjoyable.

ROFLOL! Those covers are hilarious.

I had to put a book down at my FOL sale. The guy on the cover was so dorky, he was like Joey on the tv show,  Friends. Sorry, every time I looked at the cover, I knew it would ruin the story for me.

I think AAR had a worst cover contest at some time. some of these would qualify. I love the spoofed covers!

Call me odd, but that isn't that bad of a cover.  The title of the book is RAKES AND ROGUES.  Therefore, one fellow is a/the rake and the other is a/the rogue.    Seems rather obvious to me.

I just saw a book "trailer" that was so far off the characters described in the books, I can't believe the author has it on her website and raves about it.  It's on C.L. Wilson's website and is a trailer for "Lord of the Fading Lands".  The hero is described as tall, lean, wearing black leathers, having long death-black hair, lavender eyes, and pale skin.  The actor in the trailer is none of those.  The heroine is described as tall with long, flame-colored curly hair.  The actress' hair is long-ish, straight with a bit of body, and looks more of a golden blonde.  Sheesh!!
