Ok, this steams my broccoli!

Not only did more than a half dozen Highland Press authors give gushing 5-star reviews of Leanne Burroughs' "Her Highland Rogue" (also put out by HP), but 3 of them (including Deborah MacGillivray - no surprise there!) gave their reviews TWICE!  I can't do that for my favorite authors, so why can they?

I've noted that myself too.  I was curious as to how someone was able to post 2 reviews.  I can't recall which ones they were exactly that Big Mac has double reviews posted on, but they're all HP books, I remember that:P

I made this same comment over on Amazon and someone posted that if I let Am. know which book and who double-reviewed, they will (supposedly) remove the second review.  So I have done that for this book and will do so for any others I find.

I am just stunned by the audacity, I guess, of posting multiple reviews - using the same ID, so they are not even *trying* to be subtle - of the same book where everyone can see you doing it.  They either think readers are stupid and won't notice, or they think we will notice and not care.  It's just shameless.

How is it even possible they can post a review for the same book twice? I can't do that either, the system won't let me because it says I have a post for that item already. This is strange. Is it under the same ID? I could see how they could do it using different IDs/screen names.

I found out from another Amazon poster that up until a few years ago, reviewers could post a review for each version of a book (mass market, trade, hardcover).  Then Amazon pulled the reviews for all types together, and it was up to *reviewers* to remove their duplicate reviews.  Many left their duplicates, but Amazon will remove them if you send an e-mail with the title, author, ISBN, name of reviewer and dates of reviews.

Deborah MacGillivray is one who left her duplicates behind, so as I have time I am checking her favorite authors for duplicate reviews of hers.  So far I have gotten about a dozen removed by her and several from her "close associates" - funny how they all review the same books with the same glowing 5-star reviews :)

So, I guess it has not been so much as *deliberate* double-reviewing as lazy lack of review-removing.  I'm working on that for them :) and if anyone sees any doubles on Amazon but  you don't have the time to report it, PM me and I'll do it for you.
