I have The Grand Finale by Janet Evanovich.  I posted it today.  On my TBR pile it had a Wa which to me means that it's on WL auto request.  The last time I looked (last week) 30 people were waiting for this book.

It's on my bookshelf no little grey circle with an explanation point - nothing on WL hold.

I know someone who does want it and now it's not on her WL!

Any ideas?

i looked it up and it says it has 59 wishers.  also, it's not on your shelf.  Did you happen to place it on hold when you were posting it?

I sure don't know what that book is doing.  When I look a my bookshelf there it sits bold as brass.

If I put it on hold I don't know how I did.  Maybe I'll try taking it off and see what happens.

I took it off just as easy as can be.  Went to my TBR pile and posted the book.  It shows up on my shelf just as it was.  I just want to make one of those 59 wishers happy!

Hmmmm, the one that has 59 wishes is an older copy of the same title.  I don't know if its the same story or not though because they have a different amount of pages.  The copy that is on your bookshelf has 10 available copies right now.  Maybe the 59 wishes are wishing for the wrong book?  I don't know.  Seems a bit odd.  Hopefully someone else will have a better explanation for you.

it looks the 59 people are wishing for the original version of Grand Finale, the one that went out of print. the one you have on your shelf is the newer updated revised version. they might be holding out for the original version

I just checked via my reminder list and there are 10 copies of the version you have in the system.  As Deborah said above, I think the wishers may really want the older version.

The Wa must have been a glitch since there are copies available of the one you have lsited. I've seen a few of those phantom Wa listings in the past. The only thing that I can think of is that an account was frozen while they had it WLed and it causes the system to hold on to that Wa after all the active WL requests were fulfilled.

I suggest sending in feedback through the Contact Us and let the site know that the Wa is there when it shouldn't be.

In case those other wishers might not be aware of the newer version, you could tag the older one with the newer versions ISBN or advertise in the BB.

I've seen the listing for the older one.  It's the original version written I think in 1988.  Thanks for the help and looking for it on my shelf.

No problem her now.

Thanks for the help and advice.

P. S.

I just went to my shelf to check on something and this darn book now has the grey circle with and exclamation mark!  An amazing saga today.
