An excellent, readable, touching account of foster parenting.
The author invites us into her home to tell us what foster care is really like with humor and heart
An intimate read about a family doing foster care out of love and compassion, their struggles, truimphs and tragedies. Very very intersting book
Wonderful story of a foster family and the children brought into their lives. Bittersweet and touching.
As a child-welfare worker some 30 years ago, I wondered if things had changed much since my days of working in foster care and protective services to children. The truth is...not much, just updated technology.
I placed many children in foster care, many times on an emergency basis, and this book helped me understand what the experience was like for the people into whose homes I placed children.
Very interesting reading of a story that needs to be told.
As a foster care social worker this book really hit home. I could see several of my foster care clients in bits and pieces and sometimes as a whole in this book. Many of my foster families have been through very similar situations. The foster parents I have leant it too have read it very quickly. This is a very honest, straight forward account of the realities of foster care.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I HATED TO SEE IT END.
