OK...I've just put my account on hold for a couple of months.  I've read all the help docs, so I understand how it affects my wishlist and the books that are posted now.

My question is......if I decide to post some new books to my account while it's on hold, what happens?  Is there a difference if it's WL or not?  Do I have to take my account off hold to post new books?

I guess that's 3 questions, but they're all connected ;)

Since I've had my account on hold nearly 3 months, I've wondered the same thing.  I just took it off hold a couple days ago to get a few more credits and then plan to put it on hold again when I get a few mailed, mainly because I'm called out of town for sickeness in my family often and I worry about having my account open and having to leave town suddenly.  I'd love to add the books and store them with the other books I have on my shelf when my account is on hold also.

I had to go look this one up myself because I didn't know either.

The help docs say that "books newly posted to your bookshelf during a hold will be hidden from requests".  So, sounds like you can post books while on hold and they won't be able to be requested.  I would assume that also applies to WL books that you may post.  They'd be hidden also and not offered.

If you have any WL books pending though when you go on hold, those transactions carry on.  So, if you post a WL book and then put your account on hold, that WL book will still be offered up to the next person in line for it.

Any books you post while on vacation hold will go on your shelf, but are not offered to anyone until you take your shelf off of the hold, including WL books.

Gingerkitty is correct.

When I put my account on hold to catch up on my reading, I actually go into my TBR pile and use the Post this book button. It shows up on my bookshelf but of course my bookshelf isn't open to orders at that time. When I take my account off-hold, any books I've posted that are wishlisted show up on my account page under the wishlist holds tab.

I find that moving the books over to my bookshelf while my acocunt is on hold works best for me since I've just finished the book and have it handy. Otherwise, knowing me, I'd be forgetting about the book!
