I read this a little while ago, without knowing anything about it in advance ... and I thought it was the grossest, most horrible, best horror book I have read in a long long time.

It's very "in the moment" the way the very best of Stephen King is.

Anybody else read this? I stayed up all night to finish it, I had to know what was going to happen.

I made my husband read it as soon as I was done, and I am pushing it onto everyone I know who enjoys horror ....

I just finished reading it last week and WOW. It was stomach turning and cringe inducing. What I love best in a horror novel!!!

I love Scott Sigler! I first got introduced to him because I was on the lookout for new storytelling podcasts to put on my iPod. He reads his stories via podcast episodes and I've listened to Infected and some of his other works, and then I went out and bought a hardcover copy of Contagious when it came out.

And I can't wait to get ahold of The Starter. Sigler rules!

OMG, Did I enjoy this book!  Hurricane Irene left me without power for 4 days so I did alot of reading.   I just sat down and read this one in two sittings. I only read horror and it takes alot to creep or freak me out, but there were a couple of parts that I almost couldn't stand reading.... but I had to because the writing was so compelling.    And I loved how he threw in some humor in just the right places.  I can't wait to get the sequel.  Hope it's just as good.

I read this over the summer.  Loved it!  I have the sequel and will soon be reading it.  I need to vent.  I went to a sight where ppl were saying who should play the characters in a movie based on the book.  They are actually going to make it into a film.  Yayyy!  However, I am frustrated because at this sight, the suggestions were..um...I'll be blunt...stupid.  Several posters were saying that that big, almost 50 something, black dude from The Green Mile should play Perry.  Maybe they only skimmed the book?  Others were saying Steve Buscemi should play Perry's best friend/victim.  WTH am I missing here?
