It says on the red sticky thread post deals only here. Yet the last one was 8/3 but there are loads in the geneal forum. I don't want to break the rules but it seems posting in the red sticky thread would be a waste of time.  Why don't people post in there?

Thanks,

Nancy

I do.  But I think this forum also needs a thread for folks searching.  Such as the thread in Romance called Is this on your bookshelf?

I posted  a deal just a few days ago and I just went there and the last post is 8/27.  Are you going to "last post?  I agree though that not many people respond to this thread so I  post also to the book bazaar.

Thanks for  answering ladies. I must have clicked on next page rather than go to last post.  The post on the bottom of the 2nd pg. was Aug. 3rd.  But it was from 2008.  I will make sure I get enough rest next time before I try to figure things out.(lol)  I will be back to post in the thread now that I see people are using it.

I also posted there yesterday but I was wondering the same thing - it appears that it is not very used.

I have the red sticky tread "watched" so I get an email everytime somebody posts there.  I saw your posts, and looked at your bookshelves.  I just didn't see anything I need right now.

I regularly read the sticky thread and refuse to look at a thread (much less check the bookshelf) of someone who is offering deals in the main forum.  That thread is there to keep the board from becoming cluttered and I try to respect that, especially since posing a topic trying to get people to order off of your bookshelf or offer deals is against the forum rules.

From PBS help docs (the red lettering is theirs):

We ask that members give thought to the appropriateness of their topic for the forum in which they post. It works best for everyone if questions are posted in Questions About PaperBackSwap, USPS issues are posted in USPS Postal Regulations, games are confined to Games, etc. Topics advertising your bookshelf should NOT be started in any forum but the Book Bazaar. Keeping "deals" and the like confined to the Book Bazaar not only unclutters the other forums, but also allows members who post deals to be sure that their deal is seen, and members who seek deals to find them. We have created enough forums to allow a place for anything our members might like to discuss.
