I received a book that had brown stained water damage  and  mildew growing from the back cover and on the inside of back pages in the book.

I got a nice note from the sender-- that was aware of the problem--- only after agreeing to send and I suggested she buddy me and just gift the point back.

**** For some reason she is not getting an option to gift me a point like I'm seeing on everyone on my buddy list. ???

I clicked the re-set to default setting under privacy and had her re-buddy me. Still nothing.

So  I did the  " rec'd but with a problem"   (btw, anyone know if PBS will handle this for us ?)  I've been fortunate not to have had many problems in all my years here.

There should now be a "return credit" link in the transaction archive I think it is.  I read about it in the newsletter.

Here:

How do I give credits to other members?

If you need to refund a credit from a swap for a book you have sent, you can click the {Give Refund} button on the completed transaction for the book in your Transaction Archive.

  • Click Transaction Archive linked from My Account to go to that list
  • Locate the transaction for a book you sent
  • Click Request Details link on the right side of the transaction
  • Click {Give Refund}
    • The credit value for the swap (1 credit for a bound book, 2 for an audiobook) will be refunded to the requestor.
    • The button will disappear from the transaction.

Have you went into the buddy list invitations and accepted her invite? You both have to agree with the BL before you will show up and she can buddy the credit. The system will not return the credit, you two will need to take care of that.

eta: The return credit function on the transaction is nice and sad. Nice that they have made it easier than going through the new, more complicated buddy list method, but sad that it is used enough to need the feature. Now if they'd just make it that easy to give a random member a credit!

Yes, we both agreed.   I  think ginger kitty just got the solution to the problem

I will forward her info on to the other member.   If this works gingerkitty deserves a nice batch of catnip.  :D

Ginger is crazy enough without having any catnip!

It was in the newsletter I read yesterday, thankfully the short-term memory is still good!

The sender has to have received 2 books before she is able to buddy credits. So if she is a new member and hasn't yet recieved 2 books she wouldn't have the option of buddying credits from her buddylist.
