When you order a book and the people let it ride out with no pm's or anything how often are they allowed to do that anyone know? Been happening an awful lot lately. Very frustrating. Thanks for the info ahead of time.

Lots of new members since the site was on the Yahoo home page. Probably a lot didn't have a clue what they were agreeing to because they didn't bother to read anything before signing up. Their accounts will get closed after a couple of missed requests.

Subject: not all new members are doing this.

PBS keeps the details of their actions quite secret.  How many books rolling over before they put you on hold and PM you.  What percent lost books.  How many RWAPs.  The theory is if they made the exact number public, then folks would work the system by just hovering under the limit.  This also gives them flexibility to deal with problems.  And to schedule their work around updates and glitches.

I think they also take it on an individual basis as well.  A brand new member might be given a little more leeway with requests timing out.  I know I've seen more than one new member come on here in a panic because they didn't expect to get so many orders so quickly and couldn't keep up with them.  Someone who hasn't logged on in a long time and ahs a couple of time outs might get put on "vacation" more quickly then say someone who just joined and had 40 orders their first week and had a couple slip through.  When a time out flags an account they'll look at how active this person has been before they just vacation them.

Yes that's very annoying Cindy, and I agree it seems to be happening more often lately.

I heard they are tracked down and disappear.  Of course I also heard that's what happens to members who ask what happens. What I understand is that it usually occurs in the middle of the night.

Sooooooo.......Can you sleep with one eye open?

wink
