I read a few books in a series some years ago (can't be more than 10) and remembered about them this weekend but can't think of what series it is.

Here's what I know:

It took place in Ireland or Scotland, or possibly even an English village. The main character was a woman and I know she liked to run and she might have been taking a sabbatical of some sort from playing a violin or cello with some symphony orchestra. The police inspector was having a rough marriage and it's possible he might have played an instrument also.  I'm thinking the two of them would get together and play duets but I could be totally wrong.

Sorry, it's not much to go on.  Any ideas?   :)

Gads!  I swear I can remember this.  The one I remember was in an English village and it seems there was a manor house in there too.  They'd get together and play their instruments, just friends,

Misti, go to this link on Stop You're Killing Me, then click on the various British Isles locations. Scroll down the authors' names until you find one that looks familiar. Good luck in your search!

There is a series by Morag Joss about Sara Selkirk, who is a cellist.   Is this the one you're thinking of?
