I got the virus that was running around PBS. I had to run TWO more scans because it's been great at hidding.

I just had to have someone go through and manually search and I'm running another malware search.

Anyone else having this much difficulty with it ? This thing is nasty and bogging my computer down !

I did.  And so did my DD.  DH spent a lot of time cleaning it up.  And he does this for a living.  It affected everyone differently.  Hope you get rid of it!

I only got it here on my work computer, and my IT dept. cleared it up with one scan. Haven't had any problems since. I was very grateful that they didn't decide to put PBS on their banned sites list because of it! I can't access a lot of sites here at work, but I'd be really bummed if PBS was one of those!

I ended up sending mine out to get it cleaned up., my son tried and he couldn't get it fixed, he is not an expert, but he does know a lot about them.

Cost me a $100, but worth it, the guy cleaned it up and put on Spybot S& D, Comodo Internet Security, something he called A2 Free  and a Hi Jack (told to LEAVE IT ALONE! on instruction sheet).

Sorry about yours still having trouble, it seems to have been a nasty bug.

Hubby & I both managed to get away scott clean from the incident. We both run AVG Free version and never saw anything except the hijack page, which we did not click on, so maybe that's why some had a problem and others didn't? I don't know, but I never had any problems other than not being able to access PBS for a couple hours while they got it cleaned up and the site back online. Sorry to hear some of you had so much trouble.

I downloaded the thing and didn't have that much trouble.  The woman who came and did my clean up said it wasn't enbedded that deeply.   She did run more than one scan just to be sure.  In the days it was on the computer, my computer acted normally.  I couldn't tell any difference at all.

I was lucky and never got it. I run F-Secure Security Suite. Our ISP provides it free. All I saw was the unsafe site warning page.

I use a Mac. Any problems being infected? I have noticed  a lot of  pop ups (and windows open under my active window, seeming at random) lately.

Also, I tired the link in todays link to test if I have the virus ( http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/program/mbam-setup.exe) and my computer says the kink is broken. What gives???
