I got an invite for Copia.com.  Is anyone a member?  If so, what exactly is Copia?

I tried to get a free book from them once, but they wanted me to download their reader, and it wasn't going well. I think they have books in their own format, so you can't read them on anything else. They want it to be something you connect to your friends with. There's an app for the Ipad but not the iPhone. The app has 15 five star ratings and 31 one star ratings.

After having troubles loading the program to get the freebie, I just gave up and moved on.

LOL Barbara

Cindy, I got sent a link for 4 free books.  Darned if I could even find them on their website.  It does look like they are trying to set up a social network sort of like Nook Friends.

I think I'll pass on it for now, especially if you had so much trouble with the app.

Mel I got bored at 3am & looked around the site!  Looks like they sell books in their own format.  Not sure it compatable to Kindle so I dought I use it.  I was offered 14 Free eBooks!  Not any I am interested in tho!  They also wanted me to tell them what I been reading & they keep a list[?]  So might be useful on that level.  [shrug]

I'm a member of Copia and I have downloaded several of their free books but I haven't bought any yet.  Their free books change periodically.  I have a NOOK and I have had no problem sideloading these books to my NOOK, although I did have to load it into Copia's software first.
