I LOVE her "Morgan Kingsley" series. But just can't get into her "Guardians of the Night" Series. I can't exactly explain why, it feels stilted or something.

Has anyone read the new one "Dark Descendant"?

I like to collect the series before I start reading, because if it is good I want to read them back to back. But if this new one doesn't appeal to me I'd rather collect a different series. Will you share your opinion?

Hi Nancy,

I also really liked Jenna Black's Morgan Kingsley series.  I own her Guardian's of the Night series, but haven't tried it yet.  I have read and ENJOYED both Dark Descendant (Nikki Glass, Bk 1) & Deadly Descendant (Nikki Glass, Bk 2).  I really liked the world Jenna Black created and her take an ancient gods and goddess, which normally aren't my thing.  Both books were well written with interesting characters, complex plot lines, and great action.  I think I gave book one 4 stars and book two 5 stars.  I'd definitely recommend this series!

I'm opposite to you. I enjoyed the first 1 or 2 of the Morgan Kingsley series, but after that I felt like all the books were exactly the same, and the character (and the story)never made much progress. She did the same stupid things over and over, made the same mistakes over and over, and never learned from them. And, I got bored that every mystery in each book led back to the same nightclub. She didn't grow as a character.

I read 3 out of the 4 "Guardian of the Night" and thought they were OK ... not spectacular, but not bad.

I haven't read Dark Descendants yet, after I was so disappointed with the Morgan Kingsley series, I gave up on her as an author for a while. Maybe if a lot of people seem to like them ....

I really liked her YA fairewalker series. Did not like the Descendants. (I tend to avoid UF that has demons or angels. So I have not even tried Morgan. )

I love her Dark Descendent series (waiting for the third one)  but didn't care for the others. I have the first two of the fairewalker series but haven't read them yet. I need to do that soon.

I really liked the Dark Descendent series.  I also really liked the first of the fairiewalker series, but the rest of it was not as strong IMO.

I couldn't stand the first "Guardians of the Night" book (I kind of hate the setup, and didn't love the character); I do like her other three series and am keeping up on those; they're not in my top tier but they're not all that far down. My preference order is probably Faeriewalker (despite not being a big YA person), Dark Descendants and Morgan Kingsley, but they're pretty close.
