I posted this in CMT, but then thought this may be a good forum as well.  Here's my question:

I just started reading the newest in the series - Show No Fear.  It has been several years since I read one and I am so confused by this Richard character and the custody fight for Bob.  I recall they found Bob's father, Kurt several books ago and in the flashbacks Nina knew Bob was his but Kurt left town before she knew she was pregnant.  Now there is this crazy Richard character and I am so confused.  Does anyone remember the history of Bob and of Nina's relationships - or know of a website that might have a synopsis?  It is way too many books for me to reread and I'm sure I don't still own them all.

Hi Karen, I answered you in CMT!  So, I'll go ahead and answer here, too.  I think that this was Richard's 1st and last time in the series.  It has been awhile since I read the book, and it wasn't very memorable.  I think she just threw him in there to add to the story line.  I sure hope the next book is better!

I just checked the synopses on fantasticfiction.co.uk (wonderful website). It looks like the one you are reading is a prequel to all the others. It says she is a paralegal. Maybe Richard was her first husband? I'm not remembering that to well.

The last one of hers that I read ended with her and Bob's father, Kurt rekindleing their relationship.

Good luck with it.

I like this series and have read all the books over the years.  I just finished Show No Fear and enjoyed it.  It is a prequel and introduces characters in Nina Reilly's background like her mother, father amd brother.  It also involves her first meeting with Paul van Wagoner as a homicide detective in the Carmel area.

I have just posted this book in paperback.
