I loved Gone With the Wind, but did not care so much for Scarlett. I was just wondering if anyone here has read the Rhett Butler book, and how much you did or did not like it.  If it is very good, I will probably buy it to keep.

I just found out that it existed.  Its on my wish list......The review I read said it wasnt as good as GWTW but, I'm still interested enough to give it a shot..........but not to buy at full price.

I didn't love it, although it was better than Scarlett.  Honestly, there just wasn't enough Rhett in it, they assassinated my idea of Melly's character, and the ending was wimpy.  I'm going to have to read GWTW again, just so I remember why I liked it in the first place.  I should know better than to read "authorized" sequels by now.  It kind of bugged me that the events at the end didn't mesh with Scarlett, too--seems like the authorized sequels, or companion books should at least agree on major plot events.

It's been years since I've read GWTW and Scarlett, but RB People is on my WL.  I don't know if I will reread GWTW first, watch the movie again, as an alternative, just to remind myself of some personalitites, or just jump right into RB People.  I guess I'll make that decision later.  I hope I like it.

edited to say I'm number 22 on the WL here.
