I happened on this book which is the first in a new series.  I  saw it on a top 100 list and got the first chapter free to read it on my kindle.  It was amazing.  I put it on my wishlist but there were more than a 100 people in line.  So I did something I haven't done in YEARS.  I bought a book full price by an author I have never read after dithering about it for a few minutes.   I have to say Dragon Bound rocked my world! It was a little like Kresley Cole and a little JR Ward with a touch all her own.  I wishlisted the next two asap.  I read it in one night and was very tired at work the next day.  I just thought I would tip off a few people about this new talent on the paranormal scene!  Very curious if anyone else has read it and what they thought?

Yes, I've read it and really liked it.   Thea Harrison is now on my must buy list.

There are 3 more books scheduled;  Storm's Heart (A Novel of the Elder Races) by Thea Harrison (Paperback - Aug 2, 2011),Serpent's Kiss (A Novel of the Elder Races) by Thea Harrison (Paperback - Oct 4, 2011) and  Oracle's Moon (A Novel of the Elder Races) by Thea Harrison (Paperback - Mar 6, 2012) so I'd say the publisher is pretty confident that this will be a new "hit" series.

I rarely put someone on my autobuy list so quickly but she made it in just one book.  It was a stay up all night until I finish it book.  Too good to put down.  Can't wait to see where she takes it!  Glad the publisher's have faith in her.  I think it will be handsomely rewarded.

Yes, it was quite good for a first novel.  The story was rich and well-developed, and I have all the others on my WL as well.  Don't know if I'll be able to wait for them to come FIFO, though--may have to just go buy them outright!

I was shocked that this was a first book.  It was a more mature work than you usually see for a first book.

I loved the book, too.  So much so I bought the 2nd book for my Nook and normally I only buy keepers in ebooks.  I also love how quickly her books are being published. I think the 3rd comes out in October. Yeah!

I just finished Dragon Bound and liked it - book 2 is on it's way. I'm thinking about getting these on ebook but not sure yet. someone on the romance forum said she used to write under another name - I think for harlequin but not sure.

Just finished Storm's Heart and loved it as well.  I always buy random new authors.  That's how I ended up with most of my now well established popular authors.  So many of them were new as this genre has grown over the years.

i read Dragon Bound the other day, and really enjoyed it.  it had enough adventure to it to keep me glued to the book, and enough attitude to have me cracking up in various places.  like whenever the rending came up.

i've got the second to read soon, and since i only recently added myself to the WL for the third and fourth i may end up buying them rather than waiting if the second one is just as good.  i thought the introduction of Tricks in book one was promising.

I was shocked that this was a first book.  It was a more mature work than you usually see for a first book.

ah well, it wasn't, though she is new to the genre.  according to FantasticFiction, Thea Harrison is a new pen name for an author who wrote romances (looks like all or mostly Harlequins) as Amanda Carpenter from 1983-1996.  she took a break for a while, but now she's writing again.

So far i have managed to get my hands on the first 3 books. I've put them on my "I cant wait for the wish list" list and go out and get them as soon as they come out, and they will stay on the "keeper" shelf.  It looks like the whole series should continue to gain more depth as it continues. I am looking forward to seeing where Harrison takes the storylines.
