Since the paranormal genre is one of my absolute favorites, I would love to see what you all are reading. The link to my page is in my signature below.

I'm on it but you know that because I already told you in another forum. When you get to be my age though you get to repeat youself. lol

Hopefully others from here join because its so nice to see what others have read in the past besides what is on their bookshelves for trade.

It is a pretty cool site isn't it? I love the virtual bookshelves! I just used the Should I Read This feature for the first time and got over 80 responses. I loved what some of the members had to say about the book I was wondering about and it pretty much convinced me to give it a try. Anyway, it's a great way to keep track of what you've read  and to my dismay a way to get more ideas for new reads. ;-)

Yeah, I'm sure when I get my books loaded on there and have some time to look around more, I'll find the same thing. There are a lot of people on there. How did you find out about it?

I clicked on a link in someone's signature. I had already signed up at Goodreads but I liked this format better. The "Should I Read It" feature pops up in the bubble when you put your cursor over a book. It's on the upper left side. You just click it and it shoots the question out to everyone who has that book on their shelf. I still haven't figured out what other features there are though.

ETA: Angela has an awesome shelf!! Way too many ideas for new reads there. ;-)

I just went over there and cruised around. What a cool site! I'm off tomorrow for three days so I think I'll set up "shop" over there too! :)

Hey Angela! I requested friendship from you. You do have a great shelf!

I have a question though. Where would I put my tbr pile? I plan to read them and I also own them. What did you other Shelfari members do?

I have my TBR pile in my books I plan to read shelf. I haven't put anything in the books I own shelf yet. I'm going to put my definite keeper books in there. Most of what's in my TBR pile is going to be reposted on here. If I decide not to repost it then I'll move it over to  the books I own shelf and also leave it in the books I've read shelf. You can have the books on two shelves at once so it's pretty easy to sort out.

Ok. That makes sense. I wasn't sure if they were looking at the book I plan to read as a reminder list. I'll put my tbr books on the "plan to read" shelf too.

I do want a shelf for my keepers too so that works good! thanks!

LOL! Well I guess you could set it up that way too. I'm putting my reminder list in my  wish list shelf since I don't technically have the books  yet. At first, I was only going to put the books I've read in the last year in the I've read shelf. But then I thought I would gradually add all the books I've read in my lifetime as I come across them on other people's shelf.

I wanted to do the wish list books in case some nice PBSer came along and wanted to do a trade or something. :)  They are much more fun to look at on the "shelf" like that than in a list.

I don't need a reminder list. LOL  I usually buy the book when I see it or hear about it much to my wallet's displeasure. :D

I love Shelfari, it really helps keep me organized.  I get great ideas from other people's shelf, the size of my wish list shows that!  They only keep improving this site.

Well, I use my Plan to Read list as my TBR.  Then my Favorites List are my TBR books that are WL'd here !

Then my OWN shelf is my "mini-TBR" (which is what I want to read next)

That is a good idea about the Favorites being books that are wishlisted here. Hmm I might have to do that. :) Thanks!

Victoria, I didn't realize you were on PBS too. ;)

Well I've been trying to spiff up my Shelfari shelves today since I've had company. Is it just me, or is everyone just as anal about getting the exact cover on the edition you have or read?

I'm on there also. I like it but I'm just now really getting to use it and I still don't  know everything. Today I've spent more time on it than I have in a while. I haven't been able to even post here in a long time.

How do you put links in this message?

Marie, just copy and paste the web address from your browser window into your post. That should do it.

I'm also a member as well. I like it, but I like goodreads a little better.

Melissa,

What is the difference between the two? I have never been to Goodreads. Is it the same idea?
