Everyone here seems to love this author so I thought that I would give it a try too...but I hate to start a series / trilogy before I have all the books in it so will someone please let me know if  The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory is part of a series or does it stand alone? And if it is what books come before it?

Thanks in advance!

It is a stand alone book and not part of a trilogy or anything.  However if you want to read her books in the order they happened in history, this one is towards the end.  The order would go The Constant Princess, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance, The Queen's Fool, The Virgin's Lover, and then her new one coming out The Other Queen.

It's not per se....she wrote books that were not in chronological order but they can definitely be read as stand alones.  Chonologically the books that come before TVL are The Constant Princess, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance, and The Queen's Fool.  (I'm going off the top of my head so forgive me if they aren't in perfect order!)  My favorite two are TOBG and TQF.
