Does anyone ever use UPS for shipping a quantity of books? Is is less expensive?

Media Mail rate is really the best out there.  UPS is pretty expensive to ship even small books.

No, UPS is never going to be less expensive than Media Mail. But UPS offers >70lb shipping,  superior tracking / insurance services, and more reliable timeframes.

You can "insure" your shipment by using PBS-DC for books on this site.

Somebody does....oddly enough I received a box of "deal" books via UPS. I don't think it's cost efficient, but it is fast with great tracking!

Occasionally I've had a book or box of books come thru UPS or FedEx because the person works somewhere that mail is a fringe benefit (either approved or otherwise, not my business to ask :)  I also had one gal that shipped several books to me one at a time, because if she stayed under 1 lb, she could use the shipping at work, and it didn't cost her anything. So, the all came, just one at a time hahahaha

....for your answers. I've always wondered. The post office is just so convenient for me, but didn't want to miss out on saving money.  Sarah
