Yesterday I watched "Red" which was based on Jack Ketchum's novel. I really, really liked it. It was a great adaptation, while watching I just felt deja vu because so many of the scenes were just like I imagined. And Brian Cox was great as Avery, I wasn't sure when I first heard he was going to playing him, but he did it so well that I couldn't imagine anyone else doing it. Would love to hear if anyone else saw it and what they though.

I just watched it today and I liked it.  I thought Brian Cox played a good Avery. It was a really good adaptation in my opinion.

Just finished the book.  Very good, fast read.  Wasn't exactly what I expected to happen,  But still very good.

I enjoyed the movie, but it seemed less planned than in the book.  In the book I got more of a feelng of Avery getting back at the family, in the movie it was more of things just happened.   I think you definitly need to have read the book, my husband did not enjoy the movie.  He was bored.  And I didn't get the impression from the movie that the pup was red's.  But I did enjoy it.

I thought the book was pretty tame for the build  up on the back cover.  I really pictured more action and retribution.  I guess you could say I found it a little bit too civilized.  If the movie is anything like the book then I will skip it!
