I like the 'passport' feature on my bookshelf/transaction archive (the little footprint), but so far the most I've gotten is two trips (a few books I requested, then read, then posted and someone else requested).

Does anybody have any books that have been to a bunch of places through PBS?

I've heard of this before, but can never find it! I just looked at my transaction archive again, but don't see any little footprints!!! I must be missing  something, where is it?

I got a historical romance that I was the 5th person to get through PBS.  I've already sent it on to the 6th.  :)  I think that's the most travelled one I've seen on my shelf.

ETA - Brenda, look next to the ISBNs on the transaction archive.  You should see a little red circle with a blue foot print inside.  Click on it to see where the book has been.  HTH!

Brenda, I just looked at your bookshelf, and most of your books have The little footprint by them!  They are by the date posted.

Maybe PBS could work this into a contest somehow - whoever (as of a certain date) is in possession of the book with the most spots visited (or miles travelled) gets some credits...

I have one that's travelled 6,441 miles in one trip!  It was from a military family.  I'm not sure just where they're posted.  Maybe I can ask.  It took a LONG time to get here (a couple of weeks) and I was worried it had gone missing.  The lady who sent it said she appreciated me trading with her since it takes so long for her books to get to people in the U.S.  (She's in Spain!)

Yeah, I thought it was a comma!  I guess I'm not curious enough or something.  I didn't even try clicking on it!

It seems like all of the titles should have footprints by them, since they've all been somewhere!  What determines which ones have footprints?

Lisa, to answer your question, only posted books that have actually been swapped through the system will have a passport stamp.  Any books you've posted that you didn't receive through here shouldn't have a footprint yet.

Cool. Before I started this thread, I was actually wondering if the passport feature worked - all it ever showed me was who had sent a book to me and who I had sent a book to. Now I know that was just because the books I've gotten have just entered the system.

Lisa,  I'm glad that you find a couple of weeks to be a long time.  That's pretty normal for many of my books.  And I've never gotten one from a military family.

On checking,I find that most of my transactions have 2 or 3 stamps. There are several with 4 and at least 3 with 5. The most I found was "A Hoe Lot Of Trouble" with 6 stamps and 5,502 miles traveled.

I just started PBS so the only ones I have with stamps are the four I have recieved.  And all mine have only one entry.

But I am one of those odd ones from overseas.  My books I have sent off get 5,000+ to 7,000+ miles for my one shipment :)

And when lucky the book takes about two weeks to get to the requester; when not lucky its almost a month.  One even got "lost" by the system since it hadn't arrived in the time the system allows.

Anyway I appreciate getting books this way even if it takes a little longer. I'm in Tunisia (Africa) and buying at a local book store is not an option . . . for an english-only reader.

But after reading your comments, I am now going to have to look up some of those books and add them to my Reminders List or the Wish List
