I didn't get any credits after posting 10 books so I don't have any credits to use. So if anyone would be generous could you please give me some credits?

Since you are new you might not know you can buy some credits in the kiosk or from other members here.

I don't have a credit card or anything to buy the credits with so I was just asking if anyone would be generous enough to give me credits if they had quite a few

Maybe you could try offering a deal on your bookshelf to earn a couple quick credits. Just a thought.

Are you a previous member returning with a new account or have someone else in your household who has an account? If not then use the Contact Us link in the bottom right corner of this page and ask the site why you didn't get the joining credits.

Hi Debra,

I know that being a new member can sometimes be frustrating. Rather than asking for credits from other members, why not advertise your shelf? Offer incentives, such as unpostable books (books that you have lying around that don't meet PBS requirements) free with an order, or offering 2 books or 1 credit, 3 books or 2 credits, etc. Many people on the site are in search of a good deal.

If a book on your shelf has other copies in the system, those books will go out first when someone orders it. But if you hang out in the forum, hang out in the chat rooms, etc., you'll get your name--and your shelf--out there for people to consider.

Don't they give you free credits when you join any more?

Click the "free credits" button at the top of the screen. ;-)

  • After you have Posted the first 10 books to your bookshelf, you get 2 "startup" credits from PBS to get you started swapping.  After that, you earn credits by sending out books to others. Only the first account for a household receives startup credits.
