Linda, glad you liked it. I thought Drummond was a real lucky find. I've reading Daneclare by Pamela Hill. Cromwell/Restoration England. Got a bit side tracked yesterday with another set of Dark Shadows DVD's. I think I'm finally going to see Quentin in this batch. Woohoo.

Ooooooh, Angelique just called on Satan himself for help and she's having a private interview.

Lol, hope we haven't permanently harmed Valli.

The Alan Savage interview idea does have possibilities...

As you all will notice with the upcoming interviews.  I am interviewing only authors I really like, and who I have actually read and respect.  I don't think 30 pages of Savage qualifies as" having read."   We won't even talk respect.  LOL

Currently into Slammerkin for the "headless" category. Just finished Vienna Secrets for the 1900's period. Still working on Lincoln for my 6-of-a-kind.

Finished Thirty-Three Teeth by Cotterill, the second installment in the (non-HF) Dr. Siri Paiboun series set in Laos in the 1970s. The exotic setting, the interesting characters, and the irreverent,  wry humor combine to make these books engaging and entertaining. They're also quick reads. Am now reading the third in the series, Disco for the Departed. (These books do have supernatural elements and require a certain suspension of disbelief -- the description in TTT of the conference of shamans called by the government to demand that spirits must obey Communist Party orders or be banned from their human hosts was thoroughly amusing.)

(edited to fix typo)

I finished "Lincoln's Dreams" by Connie Willis.  It was just ok.  Nothing compares to the first book I read by this author, The Doomsday Book."  That was just so vivid, compelling and well paced and unforgettable.

I've started on The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss.  Hope Valli won't be too upset!  I was going to take it on vacation but it was just too big of a tome to lug around.  The story is fantasy not h/f but I have been looking forward to this book for a long time.

Cheryl, I don't think that Valli will be upset. She hasn't been around for about a week now and I don't think it's up to me to share the reason why, but let's just say that health issues have interfered. She should be back soon though!

I had to read my book club book for the month of April, Poisoner's Handbook by Deborah Blum. I generally don't care for nonfiction but this was quite good. Deals with many methods of poisoing people and how they figured out what it did to the body.

Happy readign to all

Alice

I finished EC's Shadows and Strongholds.   LOVED IT!!!  Enthusiastic 5/5  I think this has moved into place as my second-favorite of her book, after Falcons of Montabard and just ahead of A Place Beyond Courage.
