I found this interesting:

Randy Bellino, whose son is a sophomore at Desert Ridge High, said he will host a pool party and pizza lunch at his Mesa home Friday for about two dozen students who want to avoid the Day of Silence observance or who strongly disagree with it. The party will last throughout the school day.

How many of the kids who show up will be "protesting" the Day of Silence, you really think?  I suspect that those who go are going to think that this just sounds like more fun than going to school.

I find it funny that districts are taking a "spring break" day to avoid Day of Silence. My school had break that day, too, and we simply set another date for the event.
