This book will make you laugh and cry at the same time. Told from the perspective of a dog make this a memorable and enjoyable read.

Excellent story - I was entranced, I laughed out loud, I teared, and ultimately I was very satisfied. Christopher Welch is a superb narrator. Highly recommended.

3.5 stars. A young man, Denny, selects a puppy he names Enzo. Denny meets someone, they marry, have a daughter. Denny is an aspiring race car driver. What follows is a touching tale of love, loss, struggle, betrayal and staying true to yourself and the truth. Through all, Enzo is a steadfast and loyal companion. The story is told from the dog's point of view and what a wise one he is. I loved one line: "Do not mistake confidence and self-awareness for egotism". Ending is a tear jerker.

Seattle Washington - Enzo is different from other dogs. He has acquired a nearly human soul by listening to the words of his master, Denny Swift, a race car driver. He helps Denny through the death of his wife, Eve, & custody battle over his daughter, Zoe. While dying, Enzo, knows he will return as a man. This is a heart-wrenching, funny & uplifting story of family, love, loyalty & hope. I really enjoyed listening to the audio & recommend it.
