Touching tale of one man's ruin and redemption, as told from the perspective of the family dog. Though some parts of the plot are predictable--if not unbelievable--and the pages about racing are somewhat of a bore (if you're not into that sort of thing), the book still manages to hold its own with the right mix of triumph and tragedy. While the ending is a bit cliched and wraps up too quickly for my own taste, the book interested me enough that I finished it in four hours...and cried like a baby when I did.

** This is probably a book you should avoid if you have recently been through the death of a pet. Without giving anything away, let me just say that it's emotionally charging for any animal lover, but may be more difficult to read if you've recently lost a pet.

I loved this book! Told by the dog, it made me cry, it made me laugh, but most of all, it made me think!
