What a gem!  I kept noticing this book getting rave reviews; when I began the first 6 chapters, I wondered why...I'm just not that into racecar driving and that's how the story opened.  But I'm glad I stuck with it, because WHAT A HEARTWARMING TALE!  Narrated by Enzo, the dog, we share life with Denny, Eve and Zoe from his viewpoint.  And I ended up loving how the author used metaphors comparing racing with life.  A MUST READ!

I just finished reading this book for my book club, and I adored it. I definitely needed at tissue for different parts of the book, but it was rather amazing and a book that I will definitely remember.

Yes, that's a great book.  A couple of days after I finished the book Garth Stein was doing a signing at a local bookstore... unfortunately I found out about it the morning after it occured.  I was kicking myself!

Finished it yesterday and mailed it off to another PBSer today.  Very good, but be warned it is a TEARJERKER.

This is my favorite book of 2009 (so far).  I got it for Christmas from my daughter's dog. LOL

In reading reviews of this book, I didn't think that I wanted to read it.  However, it was the very first book that I listened to on my Zune (Microsoft's version of the Ipod).  I loved hearing this in the dog's voice--believe it or not, it was very (being repetitive here) believable.  I'm not sure who the reader is, but I recommend the audio version.

I am number 2 on the wish list for a copy of this book.  We are reading it for our book club sometime in the coming months.  Glad to know that is is a good one.  We've been in kind of a dry patch for a book that we can ALL rave about.

I completely loved this book--and I hate NASCAR and only marginally like dogs. I cried like a baby.

And it went on my keeper shelf.
