I think this book will be my favorite for the year.   I stayed up very late last night ready it, had to force myself to stop and get some sleep.  I have not picked it up again today, because if I did the housework would not get done.

I had a different response than you, and didn't even care for the first six chapters or so.  If you're crying at the first chapter, I'd keep the tissues handy cause you're in for a great story!   The storyline gets better and better as it progresses.  My favorite chapter was the final!  What a great story...can't say enough good things about the writing, the plot and characters.  Something for everyone.   Enjoy.

PS Stop by and let us know how you enjoyed it when you're finished.

I've never heard of this.. I'll put it on my WL but it sounds like I'll be waiting a long time for it.

I broke down and ordered it from my library. They called that it arrived today, so maybe I will read it over the weekend.

I absolutely loved it - I'll never be able to hear the name Enzo again without thinking of this book.

My bookclub just recently read the selection and they all said it was really great and they all said they cried.I unfortunately didn't finish it. So I would recommend it, so keep the tissues handy.

This book is wonderful. It definitely had me crying, but that's the sign of a powerful book, isn't it? And oh, the stuffed zebra. :(

I read the book in a matter of four hours. I cried in the beginning and at the end. Though I found some parts of the book a little "lame" and didn't care much for the talk of race car driving, it was still a good read.

I was lucky that a friend of mine shared her copy with me so I got to read it. I'm a dog person to begin with and LOVED the ending. In a way, the person sort of goes thru what it must be like for an abused dog to suffer. Both the human and dog stayed true to their natures :) :)
