I quit reading this book after about 100 pages -- possibly a new record! I found it boring, confusing, and idiotic and just couldn't bring myself to care about any of the one-dimensional characters. Don't waste your time with it.

Disappointing 1770's romance about two angst-ridden lovers & some insipid political intrigue. The sex scenes were totally blah. The main characters were so self-absorbed I wanted to smack them. Even though I trudged through the entire book, I knew the ending almost right away.

Based on reviews on PBS, I forced myself to get through this entire book. It never improved. The characterization was flimsy, the plot was convoluted, and the love scenes were just bad. I do believe I'm done with Sylvia Day.

In spite of the other reviews, I thought this a good book. I thought the intrigue plot was a bit weak, but liked the story between the hero and heroine. It is a little spicier than your typical historical, but not too much so. Some of the supporting characters now have their own books (Christopher St. John is the hero in A Passion for the Game), and I have enjoyed them as well. Good light read.
