I enjoy Granger's Mitchell and Markby series; this one, about a 21-year-old woman who lives in a "squat" in inner London with 3 other young people who seem to have fallen through the cracks may be even better. When one of their number is murdered, Fran Varady ends up showing an unexpected talent for detection. My only quarrel with this excellent novel is the ending. If there were any clues to Whodunit, I missed them. Maybe you can do better!
