Well this is my first book by Jack Finney & my expectations of a book from 1959 was low. I was pleasantly surprised to find this book a great read. It was easy to get caught up in the story & I had a hard time putting it down, which is always my litmus test for a really good book. The style of the writing is modern considering the date it was penned. Any former submariners out there will enjoy this book ( I know as I am one myself...) 4 1/2 stars from me!
