This is the third book in trilogy that began with New Orleans. Handsome Yankee colonel, Fortune O'Brien, searched for and found the son stolen from him only to have him stolen again. The novel sweeps from the battlefields of the Civil War to its turbulent aftermath. There are intoxicating heights of passion and deep chalenges of love as a strong man and a gallant woman come together...both desiring to keep the child they each call their own.

This is the third installment in a Civil War trilogy by Sara Orwig.
After the war, Union Colonel Fortune O'Brien goes to Georgia to locate the graves of his wife and son. When he discovers his son, Michael, is still alive, Fortune vows to find him. Michael's guardian,
lovely Claire Dryden, is just as determinded to shield Michael from his father. The three manage to make a somehwhat unconvential home in post-war Atlanta.
