The Mark Twain book I chose for the classic, The Prince and the Pauper, is outstanding.  So enjoyed this read and higly recommend it to others.  Very well done.  Now reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer.  Just finished an entertaining little read called The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Ffjorde.  Also read The Twin Dilemma Mystery by Carolyn Keene, one of the Nancy Drew stories, none of which I'd read previously.  The young detective and her cohorts are great!  And Booth Tarkington wrote a delightfully humorous book called Seventeen about a young man who falls in love for the first time.  It's tickles one's funny bone over and over.  Must be my monty for YA reads because I just finished As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott which is a romantic taking place in different realities -science fiction.  Good, but it doesn't fit in my challenge.  Oh, well, I promised a young member of my family that I would read it and give her my opinion so I did it.  Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake is not the type of book I normally read as I try to stay away from horror but the author does not drip her words in blood.  Descriptions are brief and while there is plenty of death, she writes well.  I'm sure many people will really like this read.

so yesterday I started listening to Life After Life by Kate Atkinson (or whatever it is) and I just COULD NOT get into it.  First time I ever chucked an audiobook.  (Not literally...returned it to BooksFree)   The story jumped around from like Februrary 1910 to April 1914 back to a date PRIOR in February 1910...  NO Thank you... . I thought the story would flow year after year.    So instead, grabbed the 4th Chronicles of Nick that I've had sitting on the shelf and already am more into that than I was Life After Life.  Oh well....

Val,

I finished Timekeeper. It was good not sure if there is a book 3 planned I htink it kind of wrapped up. I am now reading Thirteenth Child (Frontier Magic, Bk 1) :: Patricia C. Wrede. Been waiting to read it for awhile. Story is good so far but the paper the pages are made from is very cheap. I worry about tearing the pages when I turn them.

I didn't end up finishing a certain slant of light... it just wasn't for me. Instead I read Babe in Boyland by Jody Gehrman! I loved it.  I finished it in one sitting. I'm leaving for a mini vacation tomorrow and I'm bringing Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza with me. :)

Its been awhile since I posted here. I've been reading up a storm. This month I've mostly been reading the Kitty Norville series and the Elemental Assassin series. But I have finished 3 YA books in the last week. First I finished Enclave by Ann Aguirre. It wasn't what I was excepting. It was good, but I'm a bit confused of what lead to the "freaks". To me they are classic zombie but I'm unsure if that was the intent since we don't get an explanation. Next I read Glitch by Heather Anastasiu. I had tried to read this at the beginning of the year and couldn't get into it. I read all night and lived it! So many twists in this book. I just finished Possession by Elana Johnson and HATED it. The concept was fantastic but the delivery was tragic. I hated the characters, I couldn't get an accurate setup of the future this was set in, and I was confused about everything. The author apparently liked her concept and just threw everything else together.
