Mark del Franco has an excellent post on a recent debacle where an editor asked an author who wrote a story for an anthology to change the romantic m/m story to a m/f one.

This truly saddens me. I think publishers underestimate the straight audience who enjoys reading m/m or f/f romances. I know plenty of folks who do--and I'm one of them.

This kind of thing just BURNS ME UP!  I too enjoy same sex romances - so much so that I have a virtual box game in the games forum.  Most of the readers I know enjoy a good STORY regardless of the sexuality of the characters.

It was a YA anthology.  The publisher chewed out the editor for doing this without their knowledge.   Editor had very dated ideas of what YA should include.  Trisha Telep basically destroyed her own career.
