I have two books on my WL on Auto Request. But right now, I'm at 0 for credits until some I sent out get marked as received. What happens if the books become available? Do I have the opportunity to buy credits, or will the books bypass me? Should I take them off Auto-Request so I can buy the credits and get the books if they become available before I have the credits?

Thanks!

Yes, you get an opportunity to buy credits. If you choose not to purchase them, then you get removed from the wish list. If you put your account on vacation hold, then the offer will pass you by and you won't lose your place on the wish list.

"If you put your account on vacation hold, then the offer will pass you by and you won't lose your place on the wish list."

This is only true IF you take the books off Auto-Request....because even with Vacation Hold if the books are on Auto-Request it works the same as if you weren't on Vacation Hold.

Ah, but she has no credits available. If you are on vacation hold and have no credits, then you should not get any wish list offers, even for your auto-request books. It has to work this way. Otherwise you could go on vacation with 2 credits and have 4 wish list books posted while you were gone and you'd lose the last 2. I think we'd have heard some complaints in this forum if that actually happened.

In fact, the Help Center says ...

If you do not have credits in your account when an auto-requested book becomes available, the Auto-Request will convert to a regular Wish List offer.  If your account is on Vacation Hold in this situation, you will be "bypassed" for the book, and will remain in your place in the Wish List.

Carolyn--

I've gifted you 2 credits so you can get your WL books (I hate missing WL books).  Sometime when you have excess, pay it forward to someone else in need :-)

Cheers,

Catt

Thanks! I'm at #1 on both of those books, so I'm glad I won't miss out. I'm hoping the books I sent out hit my account soon, so I won't be in the hole.  In the meantime, please let me know here, or by PM, if you'd like me to return them, pass them onto someone else, or gift them back to PBS. It was very nice of you to send those credits to me.

Carolyn--

Pass them on to someone else in need at some point. :-)

Well, again, thank you very much. After reading some critical posts about people asking for credits, or giving credits to others, I felt a little guilty, but I really appreciate the gift of two credits. I'll be sure to pass them on. These RAOK are a good thing and I plan to try to do RAOK here and "in real life" throughout the new year.
