Am I correct that if I put my WL on auto request and then put my account on vacation hold (while I am on vacation) that I will still get offered and receive books from my WL?  Or is there another way to make sure I don't miss WL books as they become available even though I can't access the site?

You are correct in your thinking.  As long as you have the credits, auto-request wishlist books will be offered to you while your account is on vacation hold.

This is from the Help Center:

  • If a Wish List book becomes available while a Hold is in effect, and the Wish List book is NOT set to auto-request:
    • you will be "passed over" for that copy
    • you will retain your place on the Wish List
  • If a Wish List book becomes available while a Hold is in effect, and the Wish List book IS set to auto-request:
    • if you have credit(s) in your account to request the book, it will be requested for you automatically, and sent to the Mailing address on your account.
    • if you don't have any credits in your account, you will be passed over for that copy, and retain your place on the Wish List

Yup, I do that all the time. I had my account on hold for almost 2 months recently (holidays, and then we ended up moving) and with the auto-request feature on, I kept on getting books. Of course my credit balance started dwindling and when it got under 30 I figured I'd better get my account off hold and send some books! LOL

I looooooooove auto request!

Thanks everyone - I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to screw up the WL books where I'm (finally) 3rd or 4th in line...yippee!  But good point by you Cheryl - I guess I'm going to have to find a way to foist some books off on other people so that I don't run out of credits while I'm away.  I'm off to the Book Bazaar....
