I just posted a book that displayed on my TBR pile as being wishlisted with autorequest (Wa)...yet the book is not now displaying as on wishlist hold. Any idea what gives? I would think this book would be held for the person who has it on Autorequest...no?

it should show up on your bookshelf with a one hour hold - as if someone had ordered it from your shelf.  Then it will show up as a regular request after the 1 hour wait.

If the person that had it on Auto Request was out of credits, then it turns into a 48-hour regular WL request.

They might be out of credits.

If it is on autoWL, it won't show up in the WL hold tab, just has the grey ! next to it on your shelf. Could also be a glith in the system. Sandcastles by Luanne Rice shows as autoWL on my TBR, but the system shows 32 copies available.

when the system shows a book being wishlisted and there are alreadcy copies in the system it means someone wants a different copy than the ones already in the system,- like they want pb and hbs are listed.

Maybe the person in line first for the Rice book has it set at Wa?  And others may just have it as W.

Does the system show the Wa or W in your TBR or Books to Be Reposted lists when you have the only copy that could be made available?  I guess I always assumed the Wa and W were universal and applied to anyone with that book in the lists I mentioned.

I'd think a book would show up as Wish Listed as long as there are fewer copies available than members wishing for a copy.

"when the system shows a book being wishlisted and there are alreadcy copies in the system it means someone wants a different copy than the ones already in the system,- like they want pb and hbs are listed." Not so.  The system is not susposed show a book as wishlisted when another version is WL, only when that specific ISBN is WL'd. A book should never be marked as wishlisted if there are copies in the system. The system will send out e-mails to requestors of the other versions, but not mark the wrong one as wistlisted.

Ange - With the Rice book, it seems to me an obvious glitch. It has the green Wa in my lists. When I add it to my Reminder, it shows 32 copies available and an order now button. It is in the system so no WLs should exist. If I posted my book, I would not only not have an autorequest as indicated, there'd be 32 copies ahead of mine in the FIFO line. Its been like this since I put the book on my TBR list many weeks ago.

The only time a book should be marked as WL'd is when there are 0 copies. If there is at least one book in the system, the book is ordered for the requester, not put on a WL. You cannot WL a book that is the system, there is only the reminder button.

I misunderstood your original post  Thinking you were asking why it wasn't auto-requested.

Donna: what book is it?  Did you check to see if there others in the system like the issue with Melanie's book?  It could be a glitch.  If it shows that same book/ISBN as available already, you might want to contact PBS so than fix this and you can add it to your shelf.  Books occassionally get caught in a WL limbo for some unknown reason.
