A clever blend of film noir meets sci fi. The hero, a down on his luck robot, the creation of a mad scientist, is just trying to get by as working stiff...but when his neighbors get kidnapped by a couple of thugs, he turned detective to crack the case. This is by and large comedy, paying homage to old detective flicks, not serious sci fi, aka Bladerunner, but it has action, mystery, and humor set in a paralell universe, where humans, mutants, aliens and robots all co exist.

This book is a clever blend of sci fi, pulp adventure and hard boiled detective stories. The hero, Mac, is a robot who was built for world domination, but developed a consciousness.
He now is works as a cab driver in the futuristic city of Empire Fallsmwhile trying to earn his citizenship...which means probation. He must stay out of trouble and prove he is not an evil war machine.
When his next door neighbors are kidnapped by thugs, Mac risks his probation by playing detective....in a city filled with mutants, robots and other fantastic creatures down every dark alley.
Funny dialog, quick pacing and great characters make this story very endearing
