I marked a book as wrong book today because it was listed as paperback but was actually hardcover. I just wanted to have a record that the sender listed the wrong binding so I marked it as resolved. I assumed that I wouldn't get a refund unless I asked for one but I did get a refund. It isn't listed as coming from the sender in my registry it is listed as transaction details. So my question is did the sender refund my credit or did the site do it and if the site did it is the credit taken from the sender? It seems unlikely that the sender did it since I didn't say anything to them yet. |

What does it say in the credit registry? ETA, maybe it isn't related to this transaction. Also, in club communications, does it indicate someone sent you a credit? Last Edited on: 12/10/10 6:48 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

It is resolved. I pmed the sender, she refunded the credit and I re-refunded it to her. I dunno how she did it so that it listed as part of the transaction but that is what confused me because generally when someone refunds a credit it shows as coming from that person. |

Maybe a new feature Chris, I received a credit return noted by book transaction also. Seemed different than previous returns, but I don't do many so could be mistaken. |

If they use the Give Refund button on the transaction, it will show up as a Request Refund from that transaction. If they use the Give Credit button on the profile or bookshelf it shows coming from the member. The Give Refund button has been around for a while, not forever, but the last couple of years I think. |

Ah that explains it Melanie, thanks. |

FYI-- here in the forums, folks have been posting about an ISBN being wrong or duplicated for both the paperback and hardcover versions so I don't believe it's necessarily the sender's fault. |

Jeanne - the sender still cannot send the wrong binding, even if the ISBN is for both. The binding is one of the 4 fields that MUST match or the book cannot be posted by the ISBN and must be posted as a book without an ISBN. Sending the wrong binding is the sender's fault because they weren't paying enough attention to see that their binding was not the one requested. |
