Welcome, one and all! We're getting a good crowd here—must be the irresistable aroma of that bonfire and the goodies roasting in it. |

Welcome, ladies! Wow, there are 17 of us already, and still a couple of days for sign-up. We're gonna need a bigger bonfire. |

Wow I am going to make a HUGE leaf pile for everyone to jump in!! |
I'll be there, Amy! ♥ |
Thanks, Amy; it seems we are all always ready to jump in the pile, but we tend to be less enthusiastic abut actually making the pile, since it is a lot of work! |

Is it too late for me to cozy up to the fire? I don't do Halloween but I LOVE Fall! |
There's still room by the fire, Debbie! Scootch on over a lil' bit, everybody! I will be closing the door on any new additons this evening (about 9 Eastern), then sending out partners tomorrow. Inspired by the traditional Christmas card exchange here on PBS, I'll be send the FULL list of participants to each person, in case you'd like to send out extra cards to additonal people (which is totally OPTIONAL); however, each participant will have only 2 names that she MUST send to. Please remember that the cards should be autumn-themed but NOT Thanksgiving, and be mindful of those who prefer not to receive Halloween-related stuff.

Thanks for that idea, Robin--we usually get a few requests for the entire lists in the other swaps. |
Woohoo, Robin! The wagons loaded and the weather in TX might actually feel like fall tomorrow, Sat Sept 22. I also like the idea of everyone on the send out list! I'll bring canned biscuits for the "pigs in the blanket" on a stick. Old Girl Scout thing we do here in our next of the woods over a roaring bonfire. |

Please count me in. I love fall, and Halloween is one of my favorites holidays! Sending you a PM, Robin. |

Ooh, I just saw this, glad I didn't miss the deadline. Sending my info to you, Robin. |

Wow, there must be something about fall that brings all the nicest people out!

Aaaaannnd.... it's up, up, and away! It is now officially autumn and we are launching our Autumn Card & Enclosure Swap. Each participate should have already received (via personal messge) the complete list of participants in this exchange. What to do: find your own name, then SEND A CARD TO EACH OF THE TWO LADIES LISTED DIRECTLY BELOW YOU. Since autumn is a whole season—and one to be savored—there is no rush to send your cards out right this minute, but do be sure to mail them by October 13th. Please remember that the cards you send should be autumn-themed (but not Thanksgiving), and be mindful of those who prefer not to receive Halloween-related stuff. Cards can be big, small, store-bought, handmade, funny, serious, etc. Each one should contain some other autumn-related item—a recipe, bookmark, poem, teabag, preserved autumn leaf (especially nice if you live where there is pretty fall foliage and are mailing to someone who does not), etc.—anything small that will not cause additional postage. Should you have the means and inclination to do so, feel free to send cards to any additional participants; this is completely OPTIONAL and not expected. Post your thanks (to those who sent to you) and any other autumn-related comments/miscellany here in this thread. Do not hesitate to pm me with any questions or concerns. Let’s get this maple-leaf-shaped hot air balloon in the air! :D

oh, Robin, during college I always loved to watch the hot air balloons on football days-- it was a 'thing' at the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana and the pizza place I worked at had a balloon so you could sign up to work as crew on days they were flying. We also lived in Colorado Springs twice (military assignments where my 3 girls were all born) and they had a balloon fest every year that we enjoyed. Plus it was common to see balloons rising on fall days-- so fun to stand at our house on east side of town and see the balloons with Pikes Peak as a background! |

Going to be the start of a nice semi- feeling autumn week here. We have our daytime temps in the 70s and nightime temps in the 60s. Doesn't feel crisp yet though... Thinking about going to get a handful of apples at an orchard an hour away this week sometime....they have frozen apple cider mmmmmm |
