I'm almost finished the book Aztec by Gary Jennings, and I love it....so I want to read the series. I have Aztec Autumn, and I just ordered Aztec Blood, and I see that there is Aztec Rage as well.  I've been thru every site I can think of but I cannot get a bead on what order they were published in, what with all the reprints, etc.  Can anyone help me?

I think this is the  order:

  • Aztec
  • Aztec Autumn
  • Aztec Blood
  • Aztec Rage
  • Aztec Fire
  • Apocolypse 2012 (his new one coming out, not sure if this is part of the series or not)

Check out his wikipedia page.  It has dates.  Seems to be Aztec; Aztec Autumn; Aztec Blood; Aztec Rage; Aztec Fire.

Keep in mind that the sequels were written after the Aztec author's death. I believe he had started the first and then the son finished it. The rest are by the son.

Check me on this 'cause I'm going by memory here. Yikes!

I'm pretty sure you are right, Genie. I've heard the sequels aren't nearly as good as "Aztec", and I'm glad Colleen is trying them out. We'll let her be the guinea pig. :-D

Let us know what you think, Colleen!

Wiki page I linked to before says that the last 3 were written from notes he left when he died.

Has anyone here read Jennings' Raptor? How is it? It's buried somewhere in my house and I've been indecisive about whether to invest the time to read it or not since my sister read Aztec and didn't like it (too much pointless sex, she said). I honestly don't know why her opinion has stayed me, since she likes Pride & Prejudice and I loathe Austen. LOL

Yeah, Colleen's our Mikey. (Remember the Life cereal commercial? Mikey'll try it!)

Karla, I have Raptor, but I haven't read it yet. Got nothing against pointless sex, though. (snickers) But I don't think I want to tackle another 1,000+ page book so shortly after my current read, The Light Bearer. Maybe in a few weeks.
